WiTricity is seeking an experienced, hands on, engineer to join our Reliability & Validation team and own hardware validation across WiTricity’s next generation Electric Vehicle (EV) wireless charging products and vehicle sub-systems.  
 
Based at our HQ in Watertown, MA facility, we are seeking candidates to join our team with the following experience:
  • Studied product usage and compiled mission habits and stresses to inform testing.
  • Developed product specific hardware test plans encompassing various areas of potential field stress enabling demonstration of product mission success.
  • Hardware test execution experience including the use of environmental chambers, load frames, measurement equipment, high power electronics, etc. (firmware test experience is a plus).
  • Data collection, analysis and report out to various audiences.
  • Knowledge of failure modes and mechanisms common to the automotive industry or electromechanical devices down to the component level.
  • Design & development of custom test fixtures used to validate products comprised of complex hardware and software content. Automation knowledge is desired.
  • Experience being part of a design team and interfacing with product design engineers/management to provide and receive input on product requirements which may inform test requirements.
  • Collaboration with external/internal resources to oversee testing at various locations.
                      
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the Validation Lead on WiTricity’s Design Team(s), and provide insight into product design to optimize against possible failure modes tied to projected use cases, environments, etc.
  • Own test plan conception, alignment, deployment, and continuous monitoring for assigned project(s). At a high level, the products needing to be tested must meet the following:
    • Align with stakeholders on test plans.
    • Define appropriate tests based on international standards, internal/external specifications or other best practices in the following (not limited to) categories: Performance, Environmental, Mechanical, and Reliability.
    • Execute and oversee all testing to completion.
    • Generate test reports and successfully report out results and design improvement opportunities to all levels of the company.
    • Provide readiness guidance to design team partners based on test findings.
  • Provide coaching to junior engineers on the team.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or CRE is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience performing testing on products consisting of electrical, software, and mechanical content or acting as a Reliability Engineer.
  • Experience analyzing systems and data statistically (Weibull, non-parametric, Reliability Block Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis, etc.) is preferred.
  • Experience reading and interpreting standards such as ASTM, ISO, IEC, etc.
  • Must be able to work effectively with cross-functional, global team members from design and development, product management, and customer support.
  • Must be hands-on and comfortable in a product lab environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Role requires being onsite with occasional flexibility for WFH.
